Book Expo America 2009

Bookmark and Share

Nancy GraceCELEBRITY | PR’s Jordan McAuley with Nancy Grace & her first book ObjectionAlthough a bit smaller than usual with attendance down somewhat, this year’s Book Expo America had no shortage of celebrity authors promoting their books.

Some of the celebrities I spotted were Julie Andrews signing ‘The Julie Andrews Collection of Poems, Songs and Lullabies’ with her daughter (and co-author) Emma Walton Hamilton, Nancy Grace signing her first fiction novel, ‘The Eleventh Victim’, Mary Jo Buttafuoco signing her aptly titled ‘Getting It Through My Thick Skull,’ and Dr. Ruth Westheimer signing ‘Shifting Sands.’

But my favorite part of Book Expo America was getting to see the new Espresso Book Machine in action. This machine will will be able to print books on demand in just a few minutes for customers, even if the store or location doesn’t stock the book. Although the Espresso Book Machine I tested printed the wrong cover on the wrong book, this machine is an evolution… imagine it on cruise ships, in hotels, and at resorts, where readers can get a print book in their hands immediately!

The show was too short for me.. Did not find time to go to all the book signings; so busy connecting. I loved the show, and bet you did too.
See you in Miami, my next book show.
